  General Info
Once upon a time this cosy little house was used to process “escanda” (a type of cereal that grows in the mountains) and the stone with which it was built can still be seen both inside and out. The materials used for its restoration are all natural and ecological – from the paints on the walls to the oils and dyes on the furniture – and this just adds to the rustic appeal which makes this place so appealing. Every morning, start your day with our wholesome and delicious breakfast, made with natural and organic ingredients. The house is located in the quiet village of Villandás, a small agricultural community surrounded by beautiful oak, beech, chestnut and ash woods. In the midst of this stunning natural environment, you are never far from open country and all the joys it brings.

Details on the area surrounding the property/accommodation
The central location of the house makes it an ideal starting point for visiting the sights of Asturias, undoubtedly one of Spain’s most attractive bucolic regions. The ‘protected area’ of Pico Caldoveiro is very nearby, the Camino Real de la Mesa is 4km away, and Puerto de Maravio is 10km away. The house is also not far from the Parque Natural de Somiedo (20km) and the Senda del Oso (30km). All of these are places of unique natural beauty and provide a wonderful array of walks and wildlife for visitors. Within the village, you can enjoy the simple pleasures of local farming and livestock handling (either in an observational capacity or in a more hands-on sense if you choose!) or you can just relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

A very enjoyable stay. We stayed in this pretty village house and enjoyed it, the village, the countryside and the company of the delightful owner, Carmen.
Justo Exposito,  Spain,  Sep 2011

Well, we have had a lot of experience of all kinds of accommodation and, this time round, we wanted to try out something in a totally rural environment and, to be honest, we have come away delighted. There is nothing lacking to the house itself and, in addition, you notice when you go in that it has all those things that give you that sense of warmth that makes your stay pleasant. Aside from that I should mention the owner, Carmen. It is a real pleasure to meet a host like her. We were pleasantly surprised by her manner, the personal attention she showed and the good person she showed herself to be. We warmly recommend this house to anyone who wants to get to know Asturias well.

Great place to stay, I thoroughly recommend this place. There is great countryside for walking and the situation is really peaceful. The house is delightful and the people we met were all friendly and helpful. Definitely a place to relax! Carmen is a treasure.

A great place. Thanks, Carmen. We had a perfect weekend in this little house, it was well decorated and had everything we needed. It was very rustic outside with stone walls but inside it had all the equipment of a town house with hob, oven etc. We were two couples and truly we loved it. As well as the house, the area was very good for walks. When we arrived it was all snowy and the views were a delight. The friendly people in the town greeted us despite not knowing us. Enough cannot be said. They treated us very well, they were friendly and very attentive to everything we needed. I would recommend it to everyone.

Absolutely recommended! The house is a true marvel. It's tastefully decorated and not lacking in any details, almost like a doll's house. It's located in an amazing natural setting where you can take long walks and admire the many animals and the forest. The best thing about our stay? Waking up to the sound of cow bells...The hospitality and sweetness of Dona Carmen will not leave you wanting.
Beatriz Fernandez Sabater,  Nov 2010

Great holiday. We had a marvellous holiday in the Casa de Aldea Pisón de Fodón. It was late July and my wife, my children (11 and 8 years old) and I were pleasantly surprised. Everything was exquisitely looked after. The house was modern and didn't lack for anything. We are from Algeciras and the distance we had to drive from the other end of Spain was punishing. Carmen is a an excellent woman and is very concerned with your comfort and to assist you at all times (we took the Xanas route pass thanks to her advice and it was great). Villandas is charming, tiny and calm with friendly people. To finish I can say a lot of good things about Pison but we encourage you to experience it for yourselves.
Fernando Morales,  Algeciras,  Sep 2010

In a word, excellent. Excellent house, excellent service and excellent people. Asturias did the rest. A hug for Carmen.
Family Sanchez-Dodero,  Sep 2010

Charming. The house and its location were charming. It was tastefully decorated with everything one could need, the owner makes you feel at home. It's ideal for going with children, couples or friends, for organising treks or staying at home to sample the local cuisine. Thank you Carmen for making us feel at home.
Francesc Xavier Ros Miralpeix,  May 2010

We enjoyed a magical few days in Villandras. The house is in the heart of the Asturia mountains, ideal for all types of walking routes and trails. It is a wonderful natural environment and unbeatable hospitality from Carmen, the owner. The house has everything you need and offers warmth and comfort. Excellent choice. It will exceed your expectations.
